Beach Kiosk – Easy-going summer vibes

Summer is around the corner and it is probably safe to assume that Capetonians and some inlanders (the ones not going to Plett or Jbay) will be heading to Hermanus.  Times are tough with the ressesion 2.0 whaft in the air, so pack your sunscreen and sarmi’s and  head for Onrus beach. Or alternatively, Grab some lunch at the quintessential beach shack. You can afford too!

With surfboards stacked in the corner (and they’re not there for decorative purposes) and the 20-something waiting staff  draped over the balcony ‘checking the swell’ or quite possibly the ‘view’  it never pretends to be something it’s not. Dogs and sandy feet welcome, heck you can pretty much do what you like here.

The menu consists of decent portions of fresh fare, consisting of breakfasts, sandwiches, fantastic burgers #staple no.1, wraps, salads and beer batter hake and chips # staple no.2 (done not on ‘koerantpapier’ but wax paper feels just as authentic). Pricing between R30 & R50 per meal, so just do it because we said so…

Cold beer,  a decent white and red by the glass and coctails on demand probably further explain why this place is packed from sunrise to sunset.

Great for people watching and chilling before, during or after you hit the beach.  I know, I know, I cant wait for summer either. Well luckily its around the corner! Cheers!
